Local biological scientist Dr. Adrienne Starks has been selected to serve on a committee that will award $30 million to expand the power and influence of women in the United States by 2030.
“While completing my postdoctoral research at the National Institutes of Health, I realized I was a triple minority - an American, a woman, and I was the only African American. Representation is crucial because science is a team sport,” Starks said. “So now, to be part of the Equality Can’t Wait Challenge, which sole purpose is to create more opportunities for women like me, is truly an honor.”
