Executive Summary

Founded in 1972 by twelve Chicano activists during the Chicano Civil Rights Movement, a fiercely autonomous organization was born. 51 years later, and 107 staff members strong, 92% of staff and 100% of Board members at Servicios are Latino. The minority of most organizations is Servicios' majority by curated design and with intention. The President/CEO is a nationally-recognized Latino leader-activist. Staff understand that the community faces so many barriers and oppressions and staff seamlessly build trust and efficacy with those served having themselves walked in those same shoes. Servicios' collective peer and lived experience informs the design and implementation of all programs.

Last year alone, Servicios served 79,439 individuals. Servicios offers a “one-stop-shop” that meets the holistic needs of every individual, to include addressing the social determinants of health. Services include licensed mental health and substance misuse treatment; youth violence prevention; emergency services (food, clothing, and housing services); legal and victim advocacy for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and general crimes; youth leadership programs; a mobile health clinic that travels throughout Colorado; health education and benefits enrollment services (Medicaid, Medicare, Food Stamps, etc.); re-entry services in partnership within all of Colorado's detention centers; HIV/AIDS medical management; social supports for LGBTQIA+ community members; financial literacy classes; employment training, in-demand certifications, and direct job placement; art activities and cultural events; and direct advocacy (testifying, protesting, marching, and community organizing).

Despite all of the challenges faced, Latinos are resilient, and Servicios uses a strength-based approach to elevate community voice, influence, and power.
