Executive Summary

QARI was founded to serve communities with growing immigrant populations, and has historically served a predominantly Asian community in Quincy where 30% of the population identifies as Asian and more than 37% of households speak a language other than English at home ( (2020 US Census). In New York City and Providence, a majority of QARI's clients speak Spanish, Mandarin, or Cantonese. More than 90% of our clients are low-income.

QARI’s services were developed holistically over the past two decades in response to evolving community needs. Today, QARI offers a broad array of services to meet clients' needs: multilingual information and referrals, adult education, health and food access, youth programs, environmental outreach, and city-wide cultural events. In January 2023, QARI became licensed in Massachusetts to offer outpatient clinical mental health services to immigrant clients in Quincy and across the state; we are currently working on expanding these services with licensure in New York and Rhode Island.

In September 2021, Wutabon, Inc. was established as a subsidiary of QARI focused on workforce development for immigrants. Since launching, QARI/Wutabon has partnered with Amazon, Beth Israel Deaconess-Plymouth, Claremont Corp. (Hilton and Marriott Hotels), Boston College, and Kam Man Foods. QARI/Wutabon’s workforce model aims to provide direct employment pathways for immigrants while bringing English classes, citizenship, and other wraparound social services onsite to the workplace. Across QARI and Wutabon's programs, our goal is to ensure all in the community have equitable access to resources and integrated support for their personal and professional growth.
