Executive Summary

The community in which we do our work is ethnically rich, yet economically disproportionate. Isaiah House represents members of our community that are passionate about ensuring that its members are empowered and strengthened by modeling dignified services. Isaiah House has a reputation that is the solid foundation on which we stand and has allowed us to build trust and rapport within the community. We are well respected and have a strong presence. We not only understand the struggles of our fellow neighbors, but we have experienced them ourselves. Some of our team have experienced homelessness, poverty, mental health challenges, hunger and some of the other same difficulties that many of our residents and community members face. We are equipped with empathy and have the necessary resources to support our community members. Isaiah House has been at the forefront of providing comprehensive services that address the whole person, thereby removing barriers that have previously kept them stuck and without a blueprint to move forward. We have provided that map since 1988, by stabilizing families in their own homes, connecting individuals with health care, offering parenting and workforce development classes, providing financial assistance to avoid evictions and offering a variety of other supportive services. We have groomed and hired some of our clients, helped them prepare for and secure employment and clean up their credit. Isaiah House has also created a safe environment for clients to share through art such as jewelry making and painting. Our wraparound support also ensures sustainability.
