Executive Summary

EverThrive IL strives to achieve reproductive justice for all people and families—especially those most impacted by longstanding and systemic disinvestment, prejudice, and discrimination. Successfully achieving this mission means that every person in Illinois has the resources and support necessary to determine if, when, and how to become a parent and to parent their children in safe and sustainable communities.

EverThrive IL’s full spectrum of work is multi-faceted, and recognizes that a wide range of factors can impact the health of parents, families, and communities, such as access to affordable insurance, mental health care, vaccinations, and reliable information. EverThrive IL weaves together advocacy, community engagement, and strategic partnerships to drive holistic solutions and ensure that the communities most impacted by pressing healthcare injustices are engaged in developing those solutions.

Each year, EverThrive IL reaches thousands of individuals through community outreach, trainings for health care providers and social services agencies, and coalition work and advocacy. In FY24, EverThrive IL's work touched more than 35,000 people—an estimated 95% of whom were Black—throughout Illinois. As an organization, EverThrive IL strives to reflect the community it serves. The majority of our Board and staff are BIPOC, and nearly all identify as female.

In confronting and seeking to remedy the impact of racial and economic inequity in Illinois’ health ecosystem, EverThrive IL partners with communities to learn about their needs and amplify their voices, and fosters collaboration between community members, health care providers, social service professionals, and elected officials to advance health equity in Illinois.
