Executive Summary
For over 20 years, DCFPI has been a resource to advocates and community members, providing research, analysis, and strategy to inform just policy solutions and reform inequitable systems. DCFPI is a Black, queer, woman-led organization placing racial equity and justice at the center of our work. DCFPI develops priorities in partnership with coalitions and groups rooted in communities of color. We advance strong policies and implementation year-to-year and build collaborative, longer-arc campaigns for transformative change. We take aim at the compounding effects of structural racism, which have led to vast racial and ethnic inequities in education, housing, employment, income, and wealth. And, we seek to build a future in which everyone, no matter their race or ethnicity, can live to their fullest potential.
Three themes will drive our work over the next several years:
· *Repairing harms that perpetuate inequity.* To address policies that stifle the economic, social, and political power of Black and brown residents.
· *Building strong foundations of equity.* To fortify programs that protect the most vulnerable and establish guarantees for a liberation economy.
· *Realizing a future of shared abundance.* To champion a racially equitable economy with broadly shared gains.
Through our analysis, partnerships, and collaborative campaigns, we aim to:
· Raise visibility and understanding of racially-just policies and increase their salience and prioritization.
· Advance comprehensive solutions that address racial and economic oppression.
· Strengthen strategic alliances and unify voices around collective vision and goals and to create and respond to windows for policy change.
