Executive Summary
Who We Are:
All Square is a nonprofit social enterprise that channels wealth and power to those impacted by mass incarceration. Our mission is to heal the harms created by the criminal legal system.
How We Started:
Founded in 2016 by a civil rights attorney in partnership with two prison litigators, our social enterprise is informed by criminal justice experts (staff, directors, board members and community partners) who have collectively spent over 75 years behind bars.
What We Do:
1) Prison to Law Pipeline
Our Pipeline ensures that those most impacted by the law have access to legal education. The first of its kind in the United States, our Pipeline partners with law schools, private law firms, the American Bar Association and the Department of Corrections to offer paralegal and legal degrees to incarcerated and formerly incarcerated legal scholars.
2) Law Firm
Our Law Firm ensures that those most impacted by the law lead the way in transforming the law by providing externships to currently incarcerated legal scholars while working to eliminate the collateral effects of mass incarceration through civil legal services and impact litigation.
3) Craft Grilled Cheese Restaurant
Our restaurant and food truck are not only our community hub and face to the world, they're also a place where those who have come home from prison can easily access a safe space and a competitive job.
4) Fellowship & Fellow Fund
Our Fellowship program provides direct support and capital to formerly incarcerated leaders.
