Executive Summary

The Full Story Challenge will close the gender gap in news by 2030 by putting gender, equity, and diversity at the center of our stories. We partner with local and regional news outlets in the U.S. to report on the issues that most impact women. Our investigative and enterprise journalism is intersectional and connects issues from environment to childcare to health. We center our investigative and enterprise journalism on women's lived experiences, especially those whose stories are most often unheard in mainstream news, to reveal patterns of discrimination and illuminate solutions. We collaborate through co-reporting, data and investigative support, exchanges with newsrooms and dissemination to local communities. Through these collaborations, we foster a community of editors and journalists who together disrupt bias in news. There has always been a gender gap in news, now exacerbated by an economic crisis in newsrooms. It's time to tell The Full Story.
