Executive Summary
Partners for Rural Transformation, a collaboration between six regional Community Development Financial Institutions, works to eliminate persistent rural poverty in regions historically devoid of investment and research. Their Rural Women Rising project is rooted in gender and racial justice analysis, coaching, leadership development and transformative capital investment. The Partners' cost-effective, economic inclusion strategies use gender/race criteria to provide rural low-income women with affordable credit, wealth-building opportunities, and pathways to home ownership. Our Partners will coordinate their knowledge and capacity to focus on evidence-based solutions and innovations tailored to our respective regions. From these regions, an empowered women leaders' cadre will collectively drive advocacy for systemic and policy reforms, disrupt the poverty cycle, and reach their inherent potential. With the assistance of research and communications partners, we will develop research dedicated to rural women; document data and impact; elevate authentic voices; and transform narratives from trials and inequity to triumph and justice.
