Executive Summary
Without diverse voices at the table in health research and innovation, society loses, sometimes with fatal consequences. Medcetera addresses the last mile problem of getting highly qualified women and URM leaders into decision-making roles. We will recruit high potential leaders from underrepresented groups, and provide a talent accelerator curriculum that maximizes their scientific expertise in academic or industry leadership roles. Medcetera will also support research on equity in STEM leadership. We will create opportunities for advancement of diverse voices; fill the data gaps; and bolster the next generation of thought leaders. The next generation of leaders need roles that give them flexibility, influence, and decision making capacity. As minority physician-scientists who have navigated these paths on our own, we understand the barriers facing underrepresented leaders in healthcare and we are committed to helping others achieve success on their own terms.
