Executive Summary
In the United States, COVID-19 has laid bare racial injustice and gender-based inequities, exposing unprecedented health and economic impacts for women, in particular Black, Indigenous, and other women of color. CARE's domestic CHANGE Initiative fights gender injustice by building the economic resilience of 100,000 Black, Indigenous, and other women of color in the United States through self-replicating savings groups, connecting them to critical reproductive services, and amplifying the voices of local activists, artists and other women to advocate for their rights and define their futures. CHANGE will strengthen domestic grassroots women's rights organizations through investment in their institutional capacity and innovation in new gender equity approaches through CARE's Innovation Hub. CHANGE has built a strong coalition of partners and is ready to scale. By addressing economic inequality and amplifying the voices of women, this wave of CHANGE will catalyze the next generation of women leaders in the United States.
